What’s up, {{first_name | Co-Pilot}} 👋

Up Up and Away

One month ago, I wrote a few in-depth play-by-plays on how my main newsletter, The Daily Tater, went from growing by a thousand subscribers in a month to nearly that same amount of unsubscribing a month later. These were real-time thoughts and actions on how the last month played out, and I’ll link them below for your convenience.

Hard Times Make Hard People
- My newsletter went to my own spam inbox.

Adapt or Perish
- The first steps taken to counteract poor subscriber quality and increasing spam reports.

The Great Churning
- The main things I did to counteract high churn and low open/click rates.

One Step Backwards, Two Steps Forward
- End results of The Great Churning after SparkLoop growth was paused.

What a learning experience this has been! Almost exactly as I laid out in these previous articles, we have now passed all-time highs in subscriber count, open rate, and click rate over the last 30 days. Attracting new customers or subscribers is a matter of doing it the right way. Fast, cheap, and easy probably won’t get you the results you desire. Focus on quality in and you will get quality out.

🕸 This Week On The Web
  • Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison on fraud charges.

  • MLB's new jerseys are even worse than fans anticipated. The Yankees’ gray jerseys looked like they were dipped in a pool.
